A set design idea and model for a shabby, chic, antique ridden cafe based along Portobello Road in London. The brief was to design a 'London' cafe for an American sitcom which was to shoot a few scenes over in the UK.
For the set, I wanted somewhere trendy like Notting Hill/ Portobello Road where there are boutique stores and antique shops, where I could imagine a little-gem-of-a-cafe, with old books, clocks and various pieces of furniture in and around the place. I could imagine a place like this would represent London well, with a beautiful view through the criss-cross windows onto the street, bustling with a market selling knick-knacks, cups of tea and scones being sold on the cafe, as well as antiques, second hand books and pieces of art.
